Short answer
If you run one service business rather than an agency, a good GoHighLevel alternative is usually a CRM made for a single company: HubSpot Sales Hub or Zoho CRM for a general sales pipeline, Jobber if you schedule crews and send quotes in the field, or a custom CRM if your workflow is unusual. HighLevel itself is priced and positioned for agencies: its plans run US$97, US$297 and US$497 a month, built around sub-accounts, white-labelling and reselling, with SMS, calls, email and AI billed on top by usage. If you are an agency managing many clients, HighLevel is often the right tool. Below: what HighLevel costs, the alternatives with prices checked on October 2, 2026, and how to choose.
The short answer
GoHighLevel (HighLevel) bundles a CRM, pipelines, a website and funnel builder, email and SMS marketing, calling, booking calendars, workflows, reputation management, courses and payments in one platform. Its pricing page describes its plans for “growing agencies” and those “looking to go SaaS”, and its top self-serve plan turns HighLevel into “your own sellable software product”. That is a strong fit for an agency running dozens of client accounts.
For a single plumbing company, clinic, law office or contractor, that design shows up as extra setup and extra moving parts. Most of those businesses need four things: every lead captured, an owner and a next step for each one, automatic follow-up by email and text, and reports that show where revenue comes from. Several tools do that with less to configure, and a custom build can do it exactly your way.
What HighLevel costs in 2026
HighLevel lists three self-serve plans and a custom Enterprise plan. The three self-serve plans include unlimited users, and every plan comes with a 14-day free trial; billing starts automatically at the end of the trial unless you cancel. The interface is available in 12 languages besides English, including Canadian French.
| HighLevel plan | Monthly | Annual | Sub-accounts | Notable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | US$97 | US$970 | 3 | Unlimited users; usage-based charges apply |
| Unlimited | US$297 | US$2,970 | Unlimited | Basic API access; rebill phone and email without markup |
| Agency Pro | US$497 | US$4,970 | Unlimited | SaaS mode; rebill with markup; advanced API |
| Enterprise | Custom | Custom | Custom | Includes HIPAA compliance and white-label mobile app |

The usage fees on top
The plan price is not the whole bill. HighLevel states that usage-based charges apply for SMS, phone, email and AI. Its LC Phone pricing article (last updated September 29, 2026) lists these rates for the United States and Canada, which already include a 10% discount:
| LC Phone item (US and Canada) | Published rate |
|---|---|
| SMS, outbound or inbound | US$0.00747 per segment |
| Local phone number | US$1.15 per month |
| Toll-free number | US$2.15 per month |
| Outbound call | US$0.0166 per minute |
| Inbound call | US$0.01165 per minute |
| A2P 10DLC registration (sole proprietor or low volume) | US$22.50 one time, plus a monthly campaign fee |
Example, our arithmetic: Starter at US$97 + one local number at US$1.15 + 2,000 outbound SMS segments at US$0.00747 (US$14.94) is about US$113 a month before calls, email, AI and registration fees.
The alternatives, side by side
These are the options we would actually put in front of a single service business. None of them is “the best” for everyone; the right column tells you who each one suits.
| Tool | Published price | Users | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| HubSpot Sales Hub | Starter from US$7/seat/month (annual) or US$20 (monthly); Professional US$90/seat (annual) + US$1,500 required onboarding | Per seat; free tools for up to 2 users | Sales and marketing in one place, room to grow |
| Zoho CRM | Standard US$14, Professional US$23, Enterprise US$40, Ultimate US$52 per user/month (annual); US$20 / 35 / 50 / 65 monthly | Per user; free edition for up to 3 users | Tight budget, lots of features per dollar |
| Keap | From US$249/month billed annually (US$2,988/year); required implementation services | 2 users included, extra users US$39/month | Email marketing and automation for a small team |
| Jobber | Core US$29/month billed annually or US$49 month to month | 1 user on Core; extra users US$29/month | Home and field service: quotes, scheduling, invoicing |
| Custom CRM (ZeniTech) | CA$3,500 setup + CA$45/user/month, minimum 3 users (about US$2,457 + US$31.60) | Per user | Unusual workflows, commission rules, territories, owning the code |
Prices from each vendor’s official pricing page as viewed on October 2, 2026, before taxes. HubSpot’s Starter price is a “starts at” annual price. ZeniTech’s prices are published in CAD and converted at the Bank of Canada rate of October 1, 2026. Add-ons, texting and calling fees are extra on most options.
3-year licence cost at 5 users
HighLevel’s flat price with unlimited users is genuinely cheap on licences, and it is fair to say so. Where it costs more is in setup time, usage fees and the agency features a single business pays for but never uses. The table below is licence arithmetic only, for a 5-person team over 36 months on annual billing.
| Option (5 users, 3 years) | Calculation | Total, USD before taxes |
|---|---|---|
| HighLevel Starter | US$970 × 3, plus usage | US$2,910 + usage |
| HubSpot Sales Hub Starter | US$7 × 5 × 36 | US$1,260 |
| HubSpot Sales Hub Professional | US$90 × 5 × 36 + US$1,500 | US$17,700 |
| Zoho CRM Professional | US$23 × 5 × 36 | US$4,140 |
| Keap (2 users included + 3 extra) | US$2,988 × 3 + US$39 × 3 × 36 | US$13,176 + implementation |
| Custom CRM (ZeniTech) | CA$3,500 + CA$45 × 5 × 36 = CA$11,600 | about US$8,144 |
ZeniTech arithmetic, not a quote. It leaves out texting and calling, add-ons, data migration and admin time, which apply to every option. The ZeniTech setup includes configuration, contact import and team training.
When to stay on GoHighLevel
- You are an agency managing many client accounts and want one login and rebilling of phone and email usage.
- You want to resell software under your own brand (SaaS mode on Agency Pro).
- You need funnels, websites, courses and a CRM in one subscription and have someone to run it.
- Your team is large and the unlimited-users model beats per-seat pricing.
When an alternative fits better
- You are one business, not an agency, and the sub-account and white-label layers just add setup.
- You do field work: Jobber is built around quotes, crews, scheduling and invoicing.
- You mainly need a clean sales pipeline: HubSpot Starter or Zoho CRM gets a small team running fast.
- Your workflow is unusual (multi-party commissions, territories, job sites, memberships) and you keep bending a template to fit it: that is the case for a custom CRM.
- You want the code and data in your own name rather than in an account an agency controls.
Pitfalls to check before you switch
- Whose account is it? If an agency sold you a white-labelled CRM, the underlying account may be theirs. Ask before you leave.
- Export first: contacts, deals, notes, conversation history and files. Test a full export before you cancel anything.
- Phone numbers: plan how your texting and calling numbers move, so customers do not lose the thread.
- Texting registration: HighLevel lists A2P 10DLC campaign registration fees for US texting; whichever tool you move to, check what registration it needs and budget the time and the fee.
- Automations: list every workflow you rely on; each one has to be rebuilt, and some will not have an exact equivalent.
- Compare annual with annual: monthly prices can be much higher than the “from” price on a pricing page.
What ZeniTech does
ZeniTech is a web, app, automation and AI agency based in Québec City, Canada, working remotely with clients in Canada and the United States. We set up CRMs around how you actually sell: leads from your site, ads and phone captured in one place, an owner assigned automatically, follow-ups by email and SMS, commissions calculated per rep, and reports by lead source. A standard setup connected to your website and ads goes live in 1 to 3 weeks, including contact import and training.
If HubSpot, Zoho or Jobber covers 90% of your process, we will say so and can configure and integrate it instead. When we build, the repository is in your name from the first commit, your data stays exportable at any time, and we tell you where it is hosted before you sign. An optional AI agent for your industry can answer and qualify new leads before a person opens the file.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best GoHighLevel alternative for a small business?
For a single service business, HubSpot Sales Hub (Starter from US$7 per seat a month on annual billing) or Zoho CRM (from US$14 per user a month, free for up to 3 users) cover a standard sales pipeline with less setup. Field-service businesses often fit Jobber better. If your workflow is unusual, a custom CRM can match it exactly.
How much does GoHighLevel really cost per month?
HighLevel lists Starter at US$97, Unlimited at US$297 and Agency Pro at US$497 a month (or US$970, US$2,970 and US$4,970 a year), as of October 2, 2026. SMS, calls, email and AI are billed by usage on top: for example US$0.00747 per SMS segment and US$1.15 a month per local number in the US and Canada.
Is GoHighLevel only for agencies?
No, a single business can use it, and the Starter plan includes unlimited users. But HighLevel positions its plans for agencies and SaaS resellers, and features like sub-accounts, white-labelling and rebilling are built for that use. A single business often pays for, and has to configure around, features it never uses.
GoHighLevel vs HubSpot: which is better?
HighLevel is cheaper on licences for a large team because users are unlimited, and it includes funnels and SMS marketing. HubSpot is simpler for a single company, priced per seat, with free tools for up to 2 users and Starter from US$7 per seat. At HubSpot’s Professional tier (US$90 per seat plus US$1,500 onboarding), HubSpot becomes much more expensive.
Is there a GoHighLevel alternative for contractors and home services?
Jobber is built for home and field service: quotes, scheduling, crews and invoicing, with Core at US$29 a month billed annually for one user, as of October 2, 2026. If you also need a sales pipeline with automatic follow-ups and commissions, compare it with a CRM connected to your scheduling tool, or a custom CRM.
Can I move my data out of GoHighLevel?
Plan the move before you cancel: export contacts, opportunities, notes and conversation history, and decide how your phone numbers will move. Check whether the account is yours or an agency’s, since white-labelled accounts are often owned by the reseller. Test a complete export first.
Is a custom CRM worth it compared to GoHighLevel?
Only when your workflow does not fit a template, or when you want the code and data in your own name. On licences alone, HighLevel is cheaper. At ZeniTech a CRM costs CA$3,500 to set up, then CA$45 per user a month with a minimum of 3 users, which is about US$8,100 over three years for 5 users.
