AI agent · Auto repair shops

Bays full, customers kept in the loop.

Your service advisors should be talking to the customer at the counter, not answering the fifth call about tire changeover slots. Rex books the appointment, texts your estimate for approval and tells the customer when the car is ready.

Rex is ZeniTech’s AI agent for auto repair shops and dealership service departments. It books service by phone, text and online within your shop’s capacity, sends seasonal and maintenance reminders, and asks for a review after each visit. Like every ZeniTech agent, it also handles prospecting, email, payment tracking, analytics and security monitoring.

What Rex does for a shop

Rex handles the booking and the messaging around the work. Your technicians and advisors handle the car.

  • Service appointments booked online or by text, within the shop’s capacity
  • Seasonal tire reminders sent before the changeover rush
  • Your estimate sent by text, approved by the customer in one reply
  • The customer notified as soon as the car is ready
  • Maintenance reminders based on mileage and the last visit
  • A review request after every visit

A day with Rex

An example of a normal day once Rex is live. Illustrative, not a client case.

  • 7:30 am — A service appointment booked for Thursday, confirmed by text
  • 9:00 am — Winter tire reminders go out to last year’s customers
  • 11:20 am — Your brake estimate is sent by text and approved by the customer
  • 3:45 pm — The car is ready: the customer is notified
  • 6:00 pm — Customers due for maintenance receive a reminder
  • 10:10 pm — A new customer books an oil change online

Guardrails

Rex books and informs. It does not play mechanic.

  • Never makes a mechanical diagnosis
  • Never confirms a repair price without your estimate
  • Hands complaints and safety concerns to a person
  • Answers from your documents and rules, not from general knowledge
  • Every conversation can be reviewed; you correct it, and it adjusts

Frequently asked questions

Can Rex handle the seasonal tire rush?

Yes. Rex sends reminders early, fills slots according to the shop’s capacity and answers everyone at the same time, so the phone does not take over the counter for three weeks. It asks whether the tires are stored at the shop or brought in, and books accordingly.

Will Rex tell a customer what is wrong with their car?

No. Rex never makes a mechanical diagnosis and never confirms a repair price without your estimate. It can book an inspection, send the estimate your advisor prepared and collect the customer’s approval. If a customer describes something that sounds like a safety issue, Rex hands it to a person.

Does it work for dealership service departments?

Yes: service, parts, appointments and follow-ups. We configure your departments and your rules, so a parts question and a service booking are routed to the right people. Rex books within each department’s capacity and hands anything outside its rules to your team.

How do customers approve an estimate by text?

Once your advisor has written the estimate, Rex sends it to the customer by text and the customer approves in one reply. The approval is recorded with the conversation, and your team sees it before starting the work. If the customer has a question about the estimate, Rex passes it to your advisor instead of answering on the price itself.

How long does setup take?

An agent that answers and captures enquiries goes live in 1 to 2 weeks. If you also want it connected to your CRM, your calendar and automated follow-ups, plan on 3 to 4 weeks. Everything is done remotely over video calls and written updates, in English or French, so your location does not change the timeline.

How much does Rex cost?

Setup costs CAD 3,000 to 7,500 (roughly USD 2,100 to 5,300), then CAD 750 to 1,500 per month (roughly USD 530 to 1,060), before taxes. The monthly plan includes reasonable usage; exceptional volumes are agreed in advance. The exact figure depends on how many of your tools the agent connects to, and it is written down before we start.
