Native, React Native or PWA?

- React Native — our default: one codebase for iOS and Android, published on the App Store and Google Play
- PWA (progressive web app) — installs from the browser, no store review: cheaper, more limited device access
- Native (Swift, Kotlin) — only when a specific feature truly requires it
Rules that protect you
App projects go wrong for the same reasons software does: the client does not own the code, nobody else can take it over, or the budget has no ceiling.
- The code repository is in your name from the first commit, in your own account
- Apple and Google Play developer accounts are in your name: the published app is yours
- A standard stack (React Native, Node.js, PostgreSQL) any competent developer can pick up
- Delivery in phases, each at a fixed price written before it starts. You can stop after any of them
Frequently asked questions
How much does a custom mobile app cost?
At ZeniTech a first version starts at CAD 25,000 (before taxes), with a fixed price per phase written before work begins. Cost depends mostly on the number of screens, user accounts, payments and integrations with your existing tools.
Do I need an app, or is a website enough?
If customers visit once or twice a year, a fast website is almost always enough. An app pays off when use is frequent, when notifications matter, or when you need the camera, location or offline mode.
One app for iPhone and Android?
Yes. With React Native one codebase produces both the iOS and the Android app. We only go native when a specific feature requires it.
Do you build apps for clients outside Canada?
Yes, remotely, in English or French. We are on Eastern Time, which gives a full shared day with the US East Coast and afternoon overlap with Europe.
Do I own the app?
Yes. The code lives in a repository in your name from the first commit, and the app is published under your own Apple and Google Play accounts. If you change providers, you keep everything.
