AI agent for interior designers and architecture firms: Every project followed, from first call to portfolio.

Your designers should be in front of the client or on site, not chasing an unanswered proposal. Iris answers every project request, books the first consultation and follows each project through approvals, orders and delivery.

Iris is ZeniTech’s AI agent for interior designers, decorators, architects and technologists. It answers project requests by phone, text and online, qualifies each one (type, size, budget, style, timeline), books the initial consultation, follows up on your proposals and tracks approvals, supplier orders and delivery through to the review and the portfolio. Like every ZeniTech agent, it also handles prospecting, email, payment tracking, analytics and security monitoring.

What Iris does for a design or architecture firm

Iris handles the intake and the messaging around the project. Your team handles the design, the plans and the professional advice.

  • Project requests qualified: type, size, budget, style and timeline
  • The initial consultation booked in your calendar, with a reminder and a list of what to bring
  • Your fee proposal sent, then followed up if it goes unanswered
  • Reminders to approve concepts, plans and materials, with the reply recorded
  • Supplier orders and site progress followed, the client told of any delay
  • A review request after delivery, and photo permission for your portfolio

A day with Iris

An example of a normal day once Iris is live. Illustrative, not a client case.

  • 7:10 am — A kitchen redesign request: Iris collects the project type, size, budget and timeline
  • 8:00 am — The initial consultation is booked for Thursday, confirmed by text
  • 10:30 am — Last week’s proposals are followed up
  • 1:45 pm — A client is reminded to approve the materials before the order is placed
  • 4:20 pm — A supplier order update goes to the client of a project on site
  • 7:30 pm — Project delivered: the review request and photo permission go out

Guardrails

Iris coordinates and informs. It does not design and it is not an architect.

  • Never commits to fees or a timeline without your proposal
  • Never presents itself as an architect or promises a service outside your team’s scope of practice
  • Hands complaints, site problems and technical questions to a person
  • Answers from your documents and rules, not from general knowledge
  • Every conversation can be reviewed; you correct it, and it adjusts

A project request on a Sunday night, from first message to portfolio

Yes, an AI can take the requests of a design studio or an architecture firm: Iris answers, qualifies the project to your criteria, books the initial consultation, follows up on your proposal, reminds the client to approve, tracks supplier orders and logs it all in your CRM. It does not design anything and commits to no fee.

If a client asks whether a wall can come down or whether a permit is needed, Iris does not answer in place of a professional: it notes the question and hands it to a person on your team. This is an illustrative example, not a client case; consultations, fees and messages are your rules.

  • Sunday 8:10 pm — An owner fills in the form: a kitchen and dining room redesign. Iris answers right away and collects the project type, size, budget, style and timeline.
  • Sunday 8:14 pm — Iris quotes nothing. Following your rules, it offers an initial consultation and books Thursday at 10 am in your calendar; a record is created in the CRM with the conversation.
  • Thursday — After the consultation, your designer writes the fee proposal. Iris sends it, then follows up if it goes unanswered.
  • Mandate signed — The deposit and the phase schedule are confirmed to the client, under the terms you set.
  • Design — Concepts and materials are presented. Iris reminds the client to approve and records the reply before the next step.
  • Site and delivery — Iris checks supplier orders and tells the client about any change of delay. Once delivered, it asks for a review and for permission to photograph the project.

Professional title, written mandate, photos and messaging: what Iris respects

Design and architecture professions do not all share the same titles or framework. Iris is configured with yours and leaves to your team what belongs to it. General information, to be verified for your practice; not legal or professional advice.

  • Quebec: according to the Ordre des architectes du Québec, the Act respecting architects reserves the title of architect and certain activities to members of the Order, with exceptions set by law and regulation. Professional technologists, interior designers and decorators each have their own framework. Iris presents your team under the titles you give it and never presents itself as an architect.
  • Written mandate: scope, phases, fee basis and ownership of plans and images are best set out in writing and accepted before work starts. When the client is a consumer, Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act may apply to your service contract. Iris sends the proposal your team wrote and keeps a record of what was proposed, signed and approved; it never changes the terms.
  • Photos and personal information: photos of a home and a client’s name are personal information. Iris asks for the client’s permission before anything goes in the portfolio and records it, and collects only what the project needs (Quebec’s Law 25).
  • Messages and reviews: follow-ups and seasonal reminders follow Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL): consent, sender identification and unsubscribe. A reply to a proposal request the client made needs no prior consent; promotions do (express or implied). Google’s policy bars incentives for reviews and soliciting only happy clients: the review request goes to every client whose project is delivered.
  • Your professional body’s rules, including professional liability insurance, are to be checked with it.

AI agent, studio coordinator or voicemail: who does what

In a studio, the phone rings while designers are in meetings or on site. A qualitative comparison, with no invented statistics.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI answer the requests of my design studio or architecture firm?

Yes. Iris answers by text, phone and on your website, day and night. It collects the project type, size, budget, style and timeline, books the initial consultation, follows up on your proposals and logs it all in your CRM. It introduces itself as the firm’s assistant and hands technical questions and complaints to a person.

Can Iris replace my designer or architect?

No. Iris handles intake, qualification, appointments, follow-ups and administrative tracking. Design, plans and professional advice stay with your team, and Iris never presents itself as an architect.

Does it work for technologists and decorators?

Yes: the same path applies, from request to portfolio. We configure your phases, your fee basis (fixed fee, hourly rate, percentage of budget) and your rules.

Will Iris quote fees to a client?

No. Iris commits to no fee and no timeline without your proposal. It collects the project details, books the consultation, sends the proposal your team wrote and follows up on it.

How does Iris handle approvals and suppliers?

It reminds the client to approve concepts, plans and materials, records the reply in the file, and checks the supplier orders you tell it about, telling the client about any change of delay.

How does Iris handle photos and reviews for my portfolio?

After delivery, it asks for the client’s review and for permission to use photos, and records the answer. Nothing is published without that permission and your approval, and the review request goes to every client, as Google’s rules require.

How long does setup take?

An agent that answers and captures enquiries goes live in 1 to 2 weeks. If you also want it connected to your CRM, your calendar and automated follow-ups, plan on 3 to 4 weeks. Everything is done remotely over video calls and written updates, in English or French, so your location does not change the timeline.

How much does Iris cost?

A one-time setup, then a monthly plan, both before taxes; the full price list, in Canadian dollars, is on zenitech.dev/en/pricing. The monthly plan includes reasonable usage; exceptional volumes are agreed in advance. The exact figure depends on how many of your tools the agent connects to, and it is written down before we start.
