Every reservation taken, even in the middle of the rush.
During service, nobody has time to pick up the phone. Kai does: it takes the reservation, answers the question about parking or the patio, and collects the details of a catering request, while your staff stay on the floor.
Kai is ZeniTech’s AI agent for restaurants and caterers. It answers by phone, text and on your website, day and night, and works from your own menu, capacity and booking rules. Like every ZeniTech agent, it also handles the twelve tasks the rest of the business needs: prospecting, email, social posts, payments tracking, analytics and security monitoring.
What Kai does for a restaurant
Kai works from your capacity, your menu and your rules. It does not improvise, and it does not overbook.
- Reservations: tables, groups and special occasions, within your capacity
- Catering and events: date, headcount, budget and menu preferences collected before the request reaches you
- Common questions about the menu, hours, parking and the patio, answered right away
- Review requests sent to guests after their visit
- Special nights and promotions announced to the guests most likely to come
- Regulars hear about what is new before anyone else
A day with Kai
An example of what a normal day looks like once Kai is live. Illustrative, not a client case.
- 11:05 am — A table for six tonight, confirmed by text
- 11:40 am — A catering request for 40 people. Kai collects the date, the budget and the preferences
- 2:00 pm — Last year’s holiday party guests receive your group offer
- 5:30 pm — A question about parking in the middle of service, answered without pulling anyone off the floor
- 9:50 pm — Tonight’s guests receive a review request
- 11:30 pm — A Mother’s Day reservation is booked
Guardrails
Kai is set up to know where its job ends. These rules are part of the configuration, not an afterthought.
- Never guarantees that a dish is free of an allergen: those questions go to your team
- Respects your capacity and your booking rules
- Hands complaints to a person
- Answers from your documents and rules, not from general knowledge
- Every conversation can be reviewed; you correct it, and it adjusts

Frequently asked questions
Can Kai handle catering requests?
Yes. Kai collects the event date, the number of guests, the budget and the menu preferences, then passes you a complete request instead of a voicemail asking you to call back. You or your catering lead prepare the quote; Kai can follow up with the client afterwards so the request does not go cold.
What happens when a guest asks about food allergies?
Kai never tells a guest that a dish is free of an allergen. Cross-contact in a kitchen is something only your team can judge, so allergy questions are passed to your staff, who answer directly. Kai tells the guest plainly that the kitchen will confirm, rather than guessing to close the booking faster.
Will Kai overbook the restaurant?
No. Kai books within the capacity and rules you give it: table sizes, seating times, group limits, patio availability. When a slot is full, it offers the nearest available times instead. If your rules change for a holiday or a private event, you update them and Kai follows the new ones.
Does Kai work with our phone line, or only on the website?
Both. Kai answers on your website, by text and on the phone, and confirms bookings by text. During setup we connect it to the channels you actually use, so guests reach it wherever they already try to reach you, and staff are not pulled off the floor to pick up.
How long does setup take?
An agent that answers and captures enquiries goes live in 1 to 2 weeks. If you also want it connected to your CRM, your calendar and automated follow-ups, plan on 3 to 4 weeks. Everything is done remotely over video calls and written updates, in English or French, so your location does not change the timeline.
How much does Kai cost?
Setup costs CAD 3,000 to 7,500 (roughly USD 2,100 to 5,300), then CAD 750 to 1,500 per month (roughly USD 530 to 1,060), before taxes. The monthly plan includes reasonable usage; exceptional volumes are agreed in advance. The exact figure depends on how many of your tools the agent connects to, and it is written down before we start.
