AI agent for retail shops and boutiques: Special orders tracked, holidays prepared early.
You should be serving the customer at the counter, not answering the fifth message about Saturday’s delivery. Zoé answers, takes the special order and follows up until it is ready.
Zoé is ZeniTech’s AI agent for neighbourhood shops: florists, jewelers and specialty boutiques with a local clientele. She answers questions day and night, takes special and made-to-order requests, sends reminders before Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas to customers who have agreed to receive them, offers your gift cards and asks for a review after each purchase. Like every ZeniTech agent, she also handles prospecting, email, payment tracking, analytics and security monitoring.
What Zoé does for a shop
Zoé handles the questions and the follow-up around the sale. Your team handles the customers and the products.
- Common questions (hours, pickup, delivery, gift cards) answered right away, day and night
- Special and made-to-order requests: occasion, date, budget and preferences collected before they reach you
- Reminders before Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas, to customers who have agreed to receive them
- Loyal customers: anniversaries and recurring occasions remembered, with the customer’s agreement
- Gift cards offered at the right moment, and simple online sales tracked in the CRM
- A review request after every purchase or delivery
A day with Zoé
An example of a normal day once Zoé is live. Illustrative, not a client case.
- 8:15 am — A customer asks for a Mother’s Day bouquet: Zoé notes the date, the budget and pickup or delivery
- 10:30 am — The quote for a made-to-order piece goes out, then a follow-up three days later
- 1:00 pm — Last year’s Valentine’s Day customers receive your reminder, if they have consented
- 4:20 pm — Order ready: the customer is told it can be picked up
- 7:45 pm — A question about Saturday’s delivery is answered without interrupting the shop
- 10:05 pm — A customer picks a gift card online for a birthday
Guardrails
Zoé collects and informs. She does not decide prices or promise stock for you.
- Never guarantees that an item is in stock
- Never promises a delivery date or confirms a price without your agreement
- Hands complaints, refunds and sensitive requests to a person
- Answers from your documents and rules, not from general knowledge
- Every conversation can be reviewed; you correct it, and it adjusts
A Mother’s Day special order, from request to pickup
Yes, an AI can keep a shop’s line open while you serve customers at the counter: Zoé answers, collects the occasion, date, budget and preferences, passes you a complete request, follows up on a quote left unanswered, tells the customer when the order is ready and logs it all in your CRM. She never confirms a price or a delivery date without your agreement.
If a customer asks for something outside your catalogue, a refund, or complains about a delivery, Zoé does not promise or decide: she hands the conversation to a person. This is an illustrative example, not a client case; prices, delivery windows and messages are your rules.
- 8:15 am — An April Tuesday, the shop is full. A customer writes about a Mother’s Day bouquet and Zoé answers right away.
- 8:16 am — Zoé asks for the occasion, the date, the approximate budget, favourite colours and pickup or delivery.
- 8:18 am — A record is created in your CRM: occasion, date, budget, preferences, address. Zoé says the shop will confirm the price and the delivery window.
- 10:40 am — You prepare the quote. Zoé sends it and adds the date to your list of orders.
- Three days later — No reply: Zoé follows up politely, following your rules. If the date is no longer the customer’s, you are told to release it.
- Friday, 4:20 pm — Order ready: the customer is notified. After pickup, they receive the same review request as all your customers.
Consent, personal information, taxes, gift cards and reviews: what a shop should check
A retail shop keeps a customer list, sells goods and gift cards, and writes before the big holidays. Zoé follows your rules and leaves to your team what is theirs. General information, not legal or tax advice: have it validated by your advisor.
- Newsletter and holiday reminders: under Canada’s anti-spam law (CASL), a promotion or newsletter is a commercial electronic message. It needs express consent or, in some cases, implied consent, it identifies the sender and it offers a way to unsubscribe. Zoé writes promotions only to customers whose record shows consent.
- Customer list: names, delivery addresses and anniversary dates are personal information. In Quebec the private-sector privacy law (Law 25) applies: collect only what serves the order or the reminder the customer agreed to, limit access and delete on request.
- Special orders, deposits and online sales: before payment, state in writing the total price, the delivery date and the deposit, cancellation and refund terms. Quebec’s Consumer Protection Act also covers contracts made at a distance. Zoé sends the quote you prepared and records the customer’s agreement; she sets no price or term herself.
- Sales tax and gift cards: sales of goods are generally subject to GST and QST; the treatment of deliveries, shipments and gift cards should be confirmed with Revenu Québec or your accountant. For gift cards, check the expiry and fee rules with Quebec’s consumer protection office before setting them.
- Reviews: Google’s policy bars incentives for reviews and selective solicitation of positive reviews, and the FTC’s rule bans fake reviews in the US. Zoé sends the same review request to every customer.
AI agent, counter staff or voicemail: who does what
In a shop, messages and calls arrive hardest when the counter is full. A qualitative comparison, with no invented statistics.
| Zoé (AI agent) | Counter staff | Voicemail | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Message while the counter is full | Answers without leaving the customer in front of you | Has to choose between counter and phone | Takes a message |
| Evenings and weekends | Answers and takes the order 24/7 | During their shift | Takes a message |
| Holiday rush | Reminders sent early, everyone answered at once | One customer at a time | Full mailbox |
| Special order | Collects occasion, date, budget and preferences, then passes it on | Takes the order and advises | None |
| Price, stock, delivery date | Never without your agreement: passed to the team | Strongest option: advises and confirms | None |
| Loyal customers and occasions | Reminds the dates, with consent | If they remember | None |
| Record in the CRM | Record, conversation and order logged | If they enter it | A recording |

Frequently asked questions
Can Zoé handle the holiday rush?
Yes. Zoé sends reminders early to customers who have agreed to receive them, takes special orders within your capacity and answers everyone at the same time: Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas and wedding season.
Can Zoé tell a customer an item is in stock or promise a delivery date?
No. Zoé never guarantees that an item is in stock, never promises a delivery date and never confirms a price without your agreement. She collects the request, passes it to you and gets back to the customer with what your team confirmed.
Does it work for an online shop?
For simple online sales, yes: questions, special orders, gift cards and follow-up in the CRM. We configure your rules and your products.
How does Zoé handle loyal customers and anniversaries?
She notes recurring occasions and the dates a customer has agreed to share, and reminds the occasion in time, only to customers whose record shows consent. A customer can ask for their dates to be deleted.
Is it legal to send holiday reminders and a newsletter?
In Canada, yes, if the messages are done right: under CASL a promotion needs express or, in some cases, implied consent, and every commercial message identifies the shop and offers a way to unsubscribe. Your customer list is also covered by Quebec’s privacy law. General information, not legal advice: have your consent process validated.
How long does setup take?
An agent that answers and captures enquiries goes live in 1 to 2 weeks. If you also want it connected to your CRM, your calendar and automated follow-ups, plan on 3 to 4 weeks. Everything is done remotely over video calls and written updates, in English or French, so your location does not change the timeline.
How much does Zoé cost?
A one-time setup, then a monthly plan, both before taxes; the full price list, in Canadian dollars, is on zenitech.dev/en/pricing. The monthly plan includes reasonable usage; exceptional volumes are agreed in advance. The exact figure depends on how many of your tools the agent connects to, and it is written down before we start.
